As a New York resident, we know how important is to have a good Health Insurance for medical, dental and vision; in a city that brings so much to take care of including health which is crucial to have that cover to be able to continue the every day race .
In the medical aspect there are so many doctors and specialist all over the city under different Hospitals and that accept many health insurances ; therefore the amount of patient have grown so much throughout the years due to the lifestyle that we are force to survive.
A first time patient going through a major toothache referred by another patient makes an appointment to see the Dentist for a urgent treatment to his excruciating pain , gets through with the first visit which according to assistant it was only to take x-rays of the problem and sent patient home .
After several weeks and failed attempts on contacting the main biller or the person in charge to answer to patient to understand why was it taking so long to treat an IN PAIN patient while on the other hand plenty letter from the insurance company were arriving with each of the requested procedures from the doctor or his assistant had been approved which were 5 extractions (Approved) , root canal (in process) , bridge and replacement (Not approved) also copies were given to the Biller and approval department.
Finally patient gets a phone call to go to the Dentist office for a procedure, which ends up in an extra x-Rays which to the patient was a lost of time, money, resources and yet nothing to take care of the pain and treatment, patient was very upset and confused after knowing that procedures were approved and not performed yet by the doctor’s office .
After another amount of weeks on the following visit patient gets one root canal done and sent home with not explanation on what to do and how to take care of it , and not even an following visit details .
Patient last visit consist on a tooth pulled out and a next visit appointment, which was cancel by the doctor with no explanation or any other alternative.
Did the health Insurance patient carries PAID FOR THE PROCEDURE CLAIMS ? , and patient still hoping to treat his dental problem .
It has been one almost one year since the patient was referred to this dental office for almost nothing of what he expected to be .
There are so many medical entities not giving the right treatment or service to their patients while Health Insurance Companies are complying with approvals and payments to the respective Doctors.
